Move the music to an affluent paying audience, contract the musicians to two shows a night, mix in some soul and R&B to lighten the blues' heavy load, and that's entertainment.
King and James Brown want to sing in a Hollywood musical, they've got to be supporting characters for the Blues Brothers.
Sequel to the awesome Blues Brothers, manages to recycle aspects of the original and deliver something quite decent, but never great. Verified reviews are considered more trustworthy by fellow moviegoers. The sequel offers more of the same, only less. If Junior Wells, Aretha Franklin, Wilson Pickett, B.B. And less. Just below that it reads "Ticket Confirmation#:" followed by a 10-digit number.
This sequel suffers the same fate of all other sequels, it's a movie that tries to outdo its predecessor, but relies too much on the original for its material. Easily one of the most worthless, shameless, and unnecessary sequels ever concocted.
comedy, Culkin outgrew it, and Landis should have, too. A spectacular mess, Blues Brothers 2000 has no idea what it's doing. Forgot your password? I enjoyed the film, but it lacked the special quality that made the original so memorable and fun.
There must be a niche audience for this travesty -- probably among teenagers whose hearing and mental faculties are impaired.

Not even the music can save it. Apparently Landis originally conceived the role for Macaulay Culkin. The film is lame comedy surrounded by high-energy blues (and some pop, rock and country music). and to receive email from Rotten Tomatoes and Fandango. A unforgatable cult film which will be in the minds of a lots of fans.

Fine; then tell one. * Third: They make a sequel. I've heard Toronto called a lot of things, but not the home of the blues. |, January 1, 2000
It's not as bad as it could have been but as I expected, I didn't like it as much as the original. Watching ''Blues Brothers 2000,'' I found I had lost all interest in the orphanage, orphans, police cars, nuns and mentoring. Cinemark No doubt. Which shows a complete lack of originality and creativity, making the film utterly pointless.

Copyright © Fandango. The now-brotherless Ellwood Blues (Dan Aykroyd) is finally out of prison, attempting to reunite the old band and find a few new partners in crime (John Goodman), (J. Evan Bonifant). Anyway, would it really have been right to make the film after Belushi's death, despite the fact it's been made in his dedication? In this sequel to the original "Blues Brothers" comedy/musical, Ellwood battles the Chicago police, sings and dances his way out of numerous sticky situations, and manages to get the old band on the road for a hair-raising adventure. In 1975, he won the Pulitzer Prize for distinguished criticism.
It's like they say in the theater: The most important thing is sincerity, and if you can fake that, you've got it made. You're almost there! Blues Brothers 2000 isn't anywhere close to the landmark its predecessor was, but it's still enjoyable. It would have had more if they'd left out the story, which would have been an excellent idea. But the music's so good, it doesn't matter. Buster gets his own Blues Brothers uniform, plays some harmonica, and gets Elwood charged with kidnapping--but what's he doing in this story? Braving onward without the late John Belushi, Blues Brothers 2000 gets the band back together with a spirited soundtrack, but a mission that's far less divine.
There is food for thought in the sight of the late, great Junior Wells playing backup to a couple of comedians. Now a sequel has arrived, Blues Brothers 2000, offering more of the same. But surely it has always been thus?
If viewed at this late date, it provides mostly nostalgia for the pairing of the lovable soulmates. * Fifth: Is rotten. Cinemark The 1980 movie had neo-Nazi bad guys. Elwood wants to get the old band back together again. Born only out of the success of the original and plummeting into a pile of other dissapointing sequels released before the turn of the century, Blues Brothers 2000 fails to charm the second time around. Landis apparently lost almost any trace of inspiration or creativity. Roger Ebert was the film critic of the Chicago Sun-Times from 1967 until his death in 2013. | Fresh (21) And don't leave early: After the end credits James Brown does ``Please, Please, Please.'' The first movie opened with Jake Blues (the late John Belushi) getting out of Joliet Prison and going with his brother Elwood (Dan Aykroyd) to the orphanage where they were raised, still presided over by the fearsome Sister Mary Stigmata. and to receive email from Rotten Tomatoes and Fandango. Endless scenes of pointless buffoonery and crashing cars.
They take a musical tradition and dine out on it, throwing scraps to the real pros.
Blues Brothers 2000 is a film that could have been great, but it lacks anything to really make it stand out. Seeking out old friends, Elwood goes to a strip joint where he encounters Mighty Mack (John Goodman), a bartender who has a good voice and is enlisted as Jake's replacement. Sign up here. It goes without saying that Blues Brothers 2000 doesn't carry the original's significance and R-rated personality, yet select treats remain, while the soundtrack wails triumphantly. The notion that a professional blues musician can be ''authentic'' on demand (i.e., depressed, angry, bereft and forlorn) is amusing. | Rating: 3/4 Your AMC Ticket Confirmation# can be found in your order confirmation email.
