A serial killer is a person who has murdered three or more people over a period of more than a month, with down time between each of the murders. His memorial service was moved to Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Tex., to accommodate the crowd. Have you got a source for him saying that? You learn something new every day; what did you learn today? In the citation for his Silver Star for actions in Ramadi, Iraq, in 2006, the Navy said that “during 32 sniper overwatch missions, he personally accounted for 91 confirmed enemy fighters killed and dozens more probably killed or wounded.”, “His engagements,” the citation said, “directly prevented casualties to U.S. and Iraqi Forces on more than 30 occasions.”. Chris Kyle's story has the same level of credibility.
Despite the discrepancies, Mr. Kyle’s record includes a long list of accolades.
‘American Sniper’ Claim on Combat Medals Is Disputed. He would most likely be considered a mass murderer, not serial killer. A lot of his claims have turned out untrue, This isn't in his book. Edit: I meant to say that the military branches are mostly intended for international affairs.

Chris Kyle, musclebound, grim-faced and lethal, liked to tell stories. Putting someone in a hypothetical situation they had nothing to do with and then trying to compare it to an event they actually were in AND had nothing in common with the hypothetical situation you created/pulled outta your ass is... weird, non-sensical and possibly borderline retarded. Mr. Kyle, who was killed in 2013 by a combat veteran he was trying to help, attained celebrity status for the tales of his adventures in Iraq and other places, including a claim that he had 160 “confirmed kills” as a sniper — more, he said, than any other member of the SEALs. I'm not taking away from the sacrifice he's made and the good he's done, but I don't like him as a man.

Close. http://www.snopes.com/politics/military/kyleclaims.asp. I read his book a while ago and (if I remember correctly) he never mentioned this in the book (also, US military is never supposed to operate within states; that's what national and coast guard are for). Why? On Thursday, the Navy confirmed a report by the website The Intercept that found that Mr. Kyle had been awarded one Silver Star and three Bronze Stars with valor. I mean, a fucking hurricane just went through and they're stealing some TVs or whatever.
There were no gunshots heard. Each comes with a Harris bipod, a Leupold Mark 4 scope, a special display mount, a flag, two challenge coins and a box of custom .338 Lapua Magnum ammo. We were the second or third group to arrive at the Superdome. Before his murder in 2013 at 38, the so-called deadliest sniper in American history nurtured a comic book narrative. His military discharge document, known as a DD214, lists two Silver Stars — the military’s third-highest honor — and six Bronze Stars with valor, but his official military personnel file lists one Silver Star and three Bronze Stars with valor.

Makes no sense.
Mr. Kyle, a member of the Navy SEALs, wrote in “American Sniper” that he was awarded two Silver Stars and five Bronze Stars with valor. "Chris Kyle has entered the pantheon of American warriors - along with Alvin C York and Audie Murphy - giving a new generation of young boys a warrior-hero to look up to, to emulate," he writes. The 160 kills are … Since then, several claims he made publicly have come under scrutiny, including one that during Hurricane Katrina in 2005 the Navy placed him on top of the Superdome in New Orleans, where he shot 30 looters. His best-selling book, “American Sniper,” detailed his adventures as “the most lethal sniper in U.S. military history,” and the 2014 film of the same name became the top-grossing military movie of all time. If he claimed that (and it seems fairly certain he did), that would not make him a serial killer, it would make him a liar. Having said that, why would the government send a sniper to kill looters? And in 2014, Jesse Ventura, the wrestler turned politician turned television host, won a $1.8 million defamation suit against Mr. Kyle’s estate, saying that a scene in the book where Mr. Kyle punched a man he later identified as Mr. Ventura never took place.
Don't you have anything better to do like plant a tree or protest wallstreet? Others have challenged a claim that he killed two men who tried to carjack him in Texas.
r/AskReddit is the place to ask and answer thought-provoking questions. There are men and women with more confirmed kills than him, so I don't see the big deal. Chris Kyle's service record is the stuff of legend, but the decorated hero's life back home remains a mystery.
90% of what he says is false. Just because you did not hear a shot does not mean there was no shooter on the top of the super dome. Yet he's glorified in Clint Eastwoods' new film, American sniper.
Legally killing people would be a loophole in most definitions of the term. Press J to jump to the feed. He's a killer, yes. TIL Former US Navy Seal hero Chris Kyle claimed in his book the the US Government sent him to New Orleans during Hurricane Katrina to kill looters, he claims he sat on top of the Superdome and killed 30 people.
