The Marksman is one of those places that seems to litter many an Instagram story yet delivers just as many unsatisfied customers. To be clear, I have kids but this was our first Christmas together as a married couple and we wanted a bit more privacy than having kids feet in our faces and having to watch that our dog was ok. By the time we received our mains my wife had had enough so went to speak to the guys at the reservation desk again. Feel mean giving 3 stars as really nice atmosphere and love going to this 'as a pub'. Service is friendly but slow and inefficient. It does get very busy on Sundays because of the flower market, so if it is a special occasion then Saturday lunch would be better and you get to experience the full menu too rather than just a roast.
