Let's go is slightly better than swsh. Hey all, I’m getting a Nintendo Switch for my two young boys and I during our month off from school. sidequests, minigames, post-game), More content, more to do outside of the main game (customisable avatar/league card, raids, camping, cooking, bike racing etc). If you’ve been playing GO together then probably go for Lets GO Pikachu/Eevee. Oh yea I guess we'd have to have a virtual console on the switch first and Nintendo's fucked that up too. Autosave. When the dlc for SwSh launches, and if you decide to purchase the dlc, you'll have to buy separate copies of the dlc for each copy of SwSh that you use.
You have to battle and weaken the opposing Pokemon to catch it. Let's Go Eevee/Pikachu is what you want. My point in this regard is simple, don't let your opinion of one sour your expectations of the other. The 3 of us have been playing Pokemon Go for 2 years, so we know the basics. I'm just curious. It works like pokemon go rather than a real pokemon game but it is just a spinoff, after all. New comments cannot be posted and votes cannot be cast. These two games are a sort of fusion of the pokemon mainline games and Pokemon Go (PoGo). I would buy a switch if it meant i could get all the old Pokémon games.
If you're coming from only playing Pokemon Go, the Let's Go games are probably a good choice. The 3 of us have been playing Pokemon Go for 2 years, so we know the basics.
If what they like in GO is the collecting then this game still retains that. More like other main games in the series. Why was this not included on the switch?! This is the place for most things Pokémon on Reddit—TV shows, video games, toys, trading cards, you name it! DLC, while the concepts of the DLC is in general isn’t bad, if you buy these and your kids end up enjoying them you may be asked to get the DLC too, which means you’d have to buy it twice making this the potentially more expensive option. Thanks in advance and stay well! This means that you can buy one copy of the game and both boys could enjoy playing it together, though the coop capabilities are rather limited. They're a remake of the first ever Pokemon games, but using Go's art style and method of catching Pokemon. New Pokemon that haven’t made it into GO yet as well as old favourites. Not to be a Debby Downer but you may want to focus on that first, New comments cannot be posted and votes cannot be cast.
I was seriously hoping they were going to say that... bummer... We should all write Game Freak letters so that they see the demand. It's great for playing together or with gamers 4-8ish.
If you buy two copies, one for each boy, then you'll have to buy the dlc separately for each which means an additional $60 total. I'd buy them all if I could play them on switch, original graphics pixelated to shit on my 62" TV. Press J to jump to the feed. So like other’s have said the Let’s Go games are a good fusion of the main games and Pokémon go. If it really was that simple, they would have done it already. Can co-op through switch to switch wi-fi for raids.
I completely agree, 3ds got virtual console emulator re-releases of RBY version and GOld and Silver which were compatible with Pokebank so you can actually transfer your pokes from Gen 1&2 to Gen 7.

What do you suggest for our first Pokemon game?
True, but then why not do it via legal means. Anyways yeah my vote def goes to sword shield. This means that even if you like LGPE you may not like the mainline series, while the opposite might very well be true as well in that you could hate LGPE but still get a lot of enjoyment out of the mainline series games. I'm curious why there are not pokemon games on the switch yet, or even futher, why there are not more on the 3ds. You’ll probably get more content out of Sword and Shield, but if you truly want a simple game then go for let’s go pikachu/Eevee. -It’s a remake of the original games in the series so is a good place to start and is more beginner friendly. If they truly have fun with the actual catching mechanics in GO then Let’s Go is the better game. If your boys are old enough for the crash course (so to speak) then I'd recommend just jumping straight into Sword or Shield (SwSh). Speaking from a monetary point of view, or a parental point depending on how you want to look at it, LGPE is the far cheaper option as the game allows for shared (not split) screen coop. I’m a somewhat newbie too.
And let's go is crap. Emulators are not illegal as long as you have the original game and you are not profiting from the emulation. By using our Services or clicking I agree, you agree to our use of cookies. Cookies help us deliver our Services. Even after that he occasionally forgot and lost progress. More like other main games in the series. None of the Switch games have the same kind of combat as in GO so if that’s their favorite part then there’s nothing exactly like it.
And they are likely leaning to just canceling school for the rest of the year. With the introduction of Home, pokemon from PoGo can be transferred to SwSh as well as LGPE, but be warned that they cannot be sent back to PoGo once transferred. How is it that they can be available on emulators on computers and phones, but nintendo won't allow it on the switch.
Additionally, they have to promote them at "the right time" so it doesn't get in the way of their other projects and can sell well as a result (since GameFreak is a business and $$$ is their priority).
Play let's go. Played through the first hour or so several times before next time I visited and showed him again. r/pokemon is an unofficial Pokémon fan community.
r/pokemon is an unofficial Pokémon fan community. Probably the only time I'll ever make this recomendation, but I'd start out with Lets Go Pikachu or Eevee (LGPE), depending on the age of your boys. I know Nintendo has said something before that they do not like the current emulators, but what is it that they do not like? For example, GameFreak had to re-do the Celebi event in Crystal so you wouldn't need a mystery gift to unlock it. The catching mechanic is similar to Pokemon GO, You can transfer Pokemon between Let’s GO and GO. If PoGo is the only pokemon game your boys have played then LGPE would be an alright sort of weening into the mainline series.
I would say hold off because you are not getting a month off school, you are now getting a month of homeschooling. The catching system is completely different and unlike what it is in GO/Let’s Go. Pokémon sword has been a lot of fun. Finally, optimization needs to be done to ensure the games run smoothly and that when transferred, those Virtual Console Pokemon can still keep their properties (such as hidden abilities in the 3DS virtual console). It's for people new to Pokemon, very easy game. While Sword/Shield add a lot of new features to make the game easier (possibly one of the easiest mainline games) they are more complex than Lets GO and might be harder for youngsters.
Gamefreak doesn't like money I guess. Emulators just show it can be done, and can be done relatively quickly, so why doesnt Nintendo have something like this?
Basically the Let's Go games are like the stepping stone between Go and Sword/Shield. This is the place for most things Pokémon on Reddit—TV shows, video games, toys, trading cards, you name it!
If they really enjoy the PoGo experience then I'd go for LGPE, as those games have more in common with PoGo than the mainline series. When my youngest brother was around 7 I bought him Pokemon X, he didn’t realise you had to manually save the game at first. I have no info, but I think it's right up Nintendo's alley to go to E3 Direct and have an announcement "Download Pokemon Red/blue/Yellow etc Today!". New Pokemon that haven’t made it into GO yet as well as old favourites. Can co-op through switch to switch wi-fi for raids. Keep in mind sword and shield is pretty simple as well, but LGPE is one of the easiest games I’ve ever played, PokeMon let’s go pikavee is based on Pokémon go so I’m sure they’d like that. Press question mark to learn the rest of the keyboard shortcuts. SwSh do not offer such features, meaning you would have to buy multiple copies in order to do so at which point the majority of your coop will be raid battles (similar to PoGo). Other than that, we are newbies. Is it harder to port to the switch. They aren't that hard and are the newest main series games. Press question mark to learn the rest of the keyboard shortcuts. As most others said, "let's go Eevee/Pikachu" was literally made for the target audience of "go" players wanted to break into the standard game format. I think, in the end, the recommendation comes down to what your boys enjoy. Can only catch/transfer the original 150-ish Pokemon (and Meltang and its evolution), There isn’t a lot of activities to do outside of the main game (i.e. After that get your 3ds and play more decent Pokémon games. Sword/Shield is not as difficult as traditional Pokemon games, but is definitely more challenging than Let's Go. Autosave. If your kids are old enough to have basic reading comprehension skills (a kindergarten level should work, but maybe 1st grade) then I feel like the higher entertainment one is Sword and Shield.
r/pokemon is an unofficial Pokémon fan community. As you have played Pokemon go I do recommend let's go pikachu and eevee, Sword Shield for sure as lets go is very restrictive, has 1/4th as many pokemon, and really treats you like a toddler downplaying the game alot. This negates that. Older than 8... Maybe sword/shield. The biggest thing to take into consideration here is that LGPE, though they do share many similarities, are very different games from the rest of the mainline series. Press J to jump to the feed. This is the place for most things Pokémon on Reddit—TV shows, video games, toys, trading cards, you name it! There's a lot more to re-releasing a game than just... releasing it.
