Powerful prose for this most important rule. I imagine it is just as beautiful to anyone who doesn't so closely relate to it but I can't tell. The way she develops her characters that makes me care about them. The child does not want to leave the prairie but finds that you will always remember because what you know first always stays with you. As she talks herself into acceptance, her Mama helps her let go, commenting that the baby will need someone to tell him where he came from. I cry every time I read this lovely story of uprooting a family. This is a good book for a child going through such a change or for an adult who still recalls all those familiar things of home. I thought that this was a really cool idea.
